SHOW REPORT: Magic Bus Exhibit Sponsored by Sony at La Jolla Concours d’Elegance

SAN DIEGO, CA - May 4, 2017 - The 13th Annual La Jolla Concours d’Elegance, presented by LPL Financial on April 6-9, 2017, enjoyed continued success and growth with 213 cars, 25 vendors, and 15,000 attendees!

The Sony-sponsored Magic Bus and Whitledge Designs exhibited on Sunday, April 9, 2017, as one of the exclusive vendors, representing Sony’s RSX-GS9 Digital Media Receiver.

Noted engineer, Jon Whitledge, who has over 28 years of experience in applied research, manufacturing, and product development, designed the Magic Bus. Whitledge Designs, founded in 2004, specializes in designing, fabricating, and tuning state-of-the-art audio systems for automobiles and homes.

Since its inception, the Magic Bus has been highly acclaimed by numerous musicians, experts, and executives from across the industry. In its original incarnation, it was the first automotive audio system to be reviewed by the abso!ute sound® magazine who called it "the world's best car stereo" and acknowledged the vehicle for its "ability to create a three-dimensional soundstage" that is "outstanding even by home audio standards."

"The Magic Bus is the culmination of my ongoing efforts to build the world's finest mobile music system," stated Jon Whitledge, President, Whitledge Designs. “For nearly 10 years, it has been both a labor of love and a rolling laboratory to expand the art of sound. So it's only fitting that Sony's RSX-GS9 Hi-Res Audio player assume its proper place in the ultimate showcase for premium car entertainment."

Throughout the day, Jon Whitledge demonstrated the numerous technological features of the RSX-GS9 and entertained guests of all ages and interests with the jaw-dropping studio-quality renderings of high-resolution audio files, including 192 kHz/24-bit and Direct Stream Digital (“DSD”) files rendered natively at 2.8 and 5.6 MHz. Presentations about Sony’s RSX-GS9, and Magic Bus design, fabrication, and tuning were also featured on a Sony LCD TV.

As a special treat, singer and songwriter Meghan Andrews performed throughout the day at the Magic Bus. We also played her r
ecordings from Blue Coast RecordsSpecial Event 43 in the Magic Bus, rendered natively using 5.6 MHz DSD. Guests were captivated by Meghan’s angelic voice and interested in learning first-hand why her recordings sounded so good.
